LEDGER is a personally maintained free site of browser-based calculators and file helpers, with short guides so results are easier to interpret—including their limits.

Who maintains it

An independent developer maintains the site. There is no large editorial desk. Breaking bugs (wrong math, failed downloads, clear misstatements) come first; feature ideas are ordered by usefulness and cost to build.

Why this site exists

BMI, loan estimates, and image compression are often wrapped in clutter or vague copy. Each tool here aims to do one job and state what the number is for—and what it is not (not a medical diagnosis, not a bank approval).

How we update

• Fixes: correct calculation or UX problems as soon as practical.
• Clearer copy: add steps, examples, and limits where people get stuck.
• New tools: only after core pages stay reliable.

We do not pad pages with empty text to look bigger.

Content principles

• Prefer on-device processing in the browser for basic use; no account required for core tools.
• Health and money figures are informational only.
• Guides and tools link to each other on purpose.
